1st International Conference on Applied Quantum Methods in Computational Science and Engineering (AQMCSE)

Oct 8-10, 2025, in Aachen, Germany

We are excited to invite you to AQMCSE 2025 – the first conference on applied quantum methods in computational science and engineering – which will take place on 8-10 October 2025 in Aachen, Germany. AQMCSE is not just another quantum conference but it specifically aims to bring together the quantum industry and academia to discuss applied quantum methods that target real-world applications from the computational sciences. Fields like fluid dynamics and structural analysis, optimization, materials science, scientific machine learning, cryptography, and more stand to benefit from the breakthroughs shared at AQMCSE. With this first-of-its-kind thematic conference, we aim to create a platform where participants can exchange ideas about the non-orthodox, creative ways of using quantum devices in hybrid configurations. By pooling expertise from various fields, we can unlock the full potential of quantum technology.

CISM-ECCOMAS International Summer School 2025

May 1-5, 2025, in Udine, Italy

GACM is pleased to advertise the CISM-ECCOMAS Advanced course “Opportunities and Challenges of Quantum Computing in Computational Mechanics” coordinated by Matthias Möller (Delft University of Technology) and Fabian Key (Technical University of Vienna) which takes place in Udine, Italy, from May 1-5, 2024

The course is offered in a hybrid format, allowing participants the flexibility to attend either in person or remotely via the Microsoft Teams platform. Admission to on-site attendance is granted on a first-come, first-served basis to comply with the capacity of the lecture room.

Quantum Computing (QC) is an emerging technology that holds the potential to revolutionise the way we will be solving computational mechanics problems in the future.

This advanced course provides a gentle introduction to the basic principles of quantum computing and discuss es a large spectrum of quantum and hybrid quantum-classical algorithms and their applications in computational Mechanics.

The course primarily addresses students and practitioners from industry and academia with backgrounds in the mechanical sciences who want to know more about the opportunities and challenges of quantum computing as an emerging computing technology to solve challenging problems in the (near) future.

ECCOMAS Thematic Conferences

The main ECCOMAS conferences are complemented with more focused thematic conferences, organized on odd years, on state-of-the-art topics in computational science and engineering, organized with the support of ECCOMAS, which attract overall about 3,000 participants. These Thematic Conferences will take place all over Europe. Their enormous success expanded the visibility of ECCOMAS on a global scale and opened its frontiers to the rest of the world. The Thematic Conferences have set up a model which other national and regional associations are trying to adopt.
